This is from a post of mine in Reddit.
Dinacharya.(yogi daily routine)
I am immersed in it. I live the practice and I coach others.
Morning:
Wake up an hour before dawn
Cold water over the eyes
Oral hygiene
Glass of warm water
Abhyanga
Warm shower
Sun salutation for 5-10 minutes.
5 minutes of Pranayama (alternate nostril breathing)
5 minutes of meditation (demystified, i.e. sit in a dining chair for a straight back, close your eyes, focus on your breath. Thoughts might arise, that is fine. When I realize, I go back to focusing on the air in and out of my nostrils.)
Evening:
Dinner between 6-7pm
9pm screens out, lights out, running 2-3 vigils. You will be amazed how your body reacts to lights off and the natural light of the vigils.
Abhyanga (extra care for foot abhyanga)
Warm shower
5 minutes of Pranayama (alternate nostril breathing)
5 minutes of meditation (demystified, i.e. sit in a dining chair for a straight back, close your eyes, focus on your breath. Thoughts might arise, that is fine. When I realize, I go back to focusing on the air in and out of my nostrils.)
In bed by 10 pm.
This process has among other things got me through separation after 18 years of partnership. I did not have a single sleepless night and I had the clarity to focus on the present and not ruminate over sweet memories of the past.
